Club history – Kardinya Bowling Club
The Kardinya Bowling Club was founded in 1988 on the present site in Morris Buzacott Reserve.
Early 1983, in the planning stages of the Morris Buzacott Sporting Complex, a meeting of the Kardinya Rate Payers Association (KRA) decided that land be set aside for a Bowling Club. This was approved and the land selected is on its present site.
The meeting also stated that the venture may be ten years down the track.
After several subsequent meetings the KRA gave the approval to commence the formation of the Kardinya Bowling Club. The Kardinya Bowling Club was founded on 11 May 1988 on the present site in Morris Buzacott Reserve and incorporated on the 13 November 1989. Keith Cousins was the first Club President.
Two artificial bowling greens were laid and shading was subsequently installed to provide comfort during the ht summer days.
The first clubhouse consisted of two shipping containers – these were subsequently replaced with the current clubhouse in 2005.
The club is well represented in several divisions of both the Men and Ladies pennant competitions.
Kardinya has always been a club with a strong connection to the community and prides itself on its family oriented membership.
