Kardinya Bowling Club hosted its first-ever Country Week event

HIGH PRAISE FROM COUNTRY WEEK MEN

The Kardinya Bowling Club hosted its first-ever Country Week event—the men’s fours—on Sunday 7th and Monday 8th March.  And what a great impression it left on the 48 players who visited our club over the two days, many of them for the first time.

All visitors offered some kind of praise for the club.

Among some of the positive comments were from:

John Goddard (Hopetoun) – “We done to all concerned.  A good set up here, the beer prices were excellent and the overhead shade cloth, which made playing conditions cooler, was a bonus”.

Darren Postens (Merredin Civic) – “10 out of 10 for everything. The best venue that I’ve ever encountered at Country Week”.

Tony Crook (Jerramungup) – “Excellent, top-of-the wozza”.

Mark “Budgy” Burgess (Kondinin) – “Sensational, good facilities and hospitality very good”.

Paul Hutton (Bruce Rock) – “Over the past two days the presentation was as good as it gets”.

Alan Yandle (Narrembeen) –“Could not be better, a nice club, the greens ran well and the meals were very good”.

Yes, a lot of preparation goes into hosting a big event like Country Week, and the Kardinya Bowling Club was out to impress, with the express purpose of broadening its involvement in the event next year.

Club president, Steve Back, said he very pleased with the support that the received from members in staging this year’s Country Week. “This includes those who prepared meals, the bar staff, match officials and many other behind-the-scenes helpers,” he said.  “I’m so chuffed with the way it all turned out. We hope to be back bigger than ever next year,” he added.

Club captain Craig Stokes was among the many helpers. In fact, his company Chain Systems Australia donated the beef and pork that went into the sumptuous spit roast offerings at the end of play on Monday 8th March.

So, well done overall to everyone who combined to make the 2022 Country Week at Kardinya a very memorable event.
