Kardy’s 2022 Annual Awards Night

Kardinya Bowling Club’s annual awards night was again popular across all levels of the club’s membership—from senior office bearers, sponsors, right through to the club’s latest men’s and women’s novice champions.

One of many highlights on the night was the sumptuous roast beef and sweets dinner, which was expertly prepared and hand-served by women and men volunteers from the kitchen.

Of the awards themselves, Dave Rankin was the club’s men’s singles champion for the fourth year in a row.

Kelly Bezant scored a thrilling one-shot victory over Val Picen to claim her first ladies’ singles championship. Kelly was also a member of the club pairs championship with Ros Drane and the triples with Ros and Dee Davids.

Kardinya’s novice champions for the 2021/22 bowls season were Lorraine Sweetman (ladies) and Peter Smith (men’s).

The club’s mixed pairs champions were Laurel Collins and Tony Cocodis.

Overall 28 men and eight different men were awarded trophies.
