LOCAL MP A SPECIAL GUEST FOR THE CLUB’S SEASON OPENING

Local member of parliament Kim Giddens was a special guest at the club’s Open Day on Sunday 24 October.

Fittingly, Kim was called upon for the ceremonial shade-cloth covering of the club’s new greens ahead of the 2021/22 pennant bowls season.  The new season kicks of this week with ladies’ pennants on Tuesday and men’s midweek bowls on Thursday.

Back in February Kim, as the aspiring Member for Bateman, was instrumental in securing a $121,000 community-amenities grant from the McGowan Government to pay for the cost of replacing the ageing shade cloth on the club’s A and B greens.

Also on Sunday, Kim had the honour of rolling down a ceremonial bowl on the club’s newly laid B green.

Kardinya now has two new Evergreen Ultra Plus Gold sand-filled greens for the latest bowls season, and both are running smoothly and at a good pace.
